Sands of Times

So finally ... i dont have a writer's block... or maybe i do... i dont knw (is there anything i am sure of?) ... actually..... come to think of it... the answer to this question is a resounding yes.... its that Time with all its idiocyncracies... play a pivotal role in one's life.

Be it growing up... the tempests of adolescence... the agony of youth or the bittersweet emotions of experience. Time... whether its staying up late; having a slumber party with friends... and going to the beach to see the sun rise with them without an ounce of exhaustion... not a worry in the world... or having this void between these very friends.... knowing someone all your life and then not knowing what to talk about with the very person....just the growing distance between them... how quaint time is.... at one point you're aching to leave the hospital and yet anothter time yearning to be in one... how paradoxical time is... wanting soltitude.... yet shunning loneliness...

We all have this love-hate relationship with Time... we seek it all our lives yet keep avoiding it at the same time... we do not even begin to comprehend the fact that eventually time IS on our side... we just need to realise this and embrace it... everything that happen... happens because we will it to happen... knowingly as well as unknowingly... moments come ... leave a mark on the sands of time ... and then they vanish... and we keep moving on...

if time was on our side why would we always be racing against it....trying to conquer it.....the eternal battle of man with time echoes the fact that time was, and would never be on his side....those stints of self consolation are nothing more than measly tricks that our dear old rival plays on us....we seem to have vanquished it and there it sneaks out of our grasp....and thus continues the battle with the elusive!

'Man' and 'Time' have been created as 'opposing' forces of Nature. They were never meant to function in 'harmony', but 'antagonism'. They would never be on each other's side; but on the adversary.

I think that's where the harmony lies... in its very antagonism... Man gets his zest for life because of this very opposition... otherwise what's the use of living in a monotony... sans any challenge... (remember the poem...the uses of adversary.. i think i have just now begun to understand what the poet meant after all:)) we come to appreciate what we have through the virtues of misery... we become heroes.. and a force to be recokoned with because of this adversary... we realise the meaning of life... of loss because of our alleged foe... and thus become what we were meant to be...

we hear phrase such as opposites attract.... man and nature can never be friends...and so forth

I can give u another example... in the movie Troy... Achilles tells Briseis that the immortal secrectly envy mortals... and i believe it is because of this very zest that i am talking about... these challenges and how eventually it makes us Human... makes us what and who we are...

the universe is a chaos... but in that very chaos lies its harmony...

so what i am trying to say is that we should embrace this very antagonism... because it IS on our side ... the hardships...the loss... the sadness... contentment... happiness... joy... this is what life is all about... and it is our Time on this earth that makes it happen... (otherwise we'd still be in paradise)
